Traditionally Super Bowl ads have been 'never before seen' commercials to viewers. This year some of the most popular Super Bowl advertisers took a different route in sharing their commercials on various social media before their big debut during the game. VW had posted a "Super Bowl" commercial 5 days before Sunday's game. The commercial was posted on their blog, facebook, and VW's YouTube channel and received over 13 million views by game time. I think that these company's made the decision to share these commercials so they could not only create buzz during the time the commercial is aired but also in the week leading to the game. Consumers like the idea of knowing what is going to happen and like being able to express their personal opinions whether it be with friends while watching the ad or on different social media networks such as facebook, twitter and youtube, and that's exactly what advertisers want from their audience.
