Most Watched Program Ever

Reports say that Sundays Super Bowl was the most watched program in the history of television. FOX reported that Super Bowl XLV averaged 111 million viewers, and beat last years Super Bowl (the previous record holder) by 4.5 million viewers. Maybe it was because of the dedicated fan bases belonging to both of the involved franchises. Maybe it had to do with people being nervous that this might be the last football game they get to see for the entire year (see the NFL lockout). Either way, Sundays game had a 69 percent share, meaning out of all the televisions turned on on Sunday that 69% were tuned into the game. Maybe the advertisers are smarter than we think for paying 3 million dollars for a 30 second time slot seen by so many people.
