There were many winners last night during the 2011 Super Bowl. While the Packers won the game played on the field, and FOX hosted the most watched TV progam in U.S. history. Another medium also saw record number's and that was Twitter. People who watched the game sent out more than 3 million tweet's on Super Bowl Sunday. Those numbers don't even include any tweet's about the Super Bowl commercials, which are sure to stir up conversations.
Twitter has become the new "global" water cooler. Which is playing a huge role in promoting events such as the Super Bowl, as well as keeping people tuned in. I agree with the article when it says, that in the "old days" you would simply change the channel if you were bored, now you just look at your phone and sound off about what you like or don't like in a simple tweet.
If the NFL has a lockout next season I'm sure people will sound off on today's most important news medium: TWITTER
