As Brisbrane, Australia works to recover from the recent devastating floods, the PGA does their part by donating $150,000 to help rebuild homes and community centers. Greg Norman, International captain, is originally from Brisbrane and has witnessed and experienced their powerful floods first hand. He is grateful for all of the support that the PGA has given him and his homeland. Other Australian pro golfers have found ways to pitch in also. Steve Elkington donated $1000 for each birdie he made in his last tournament, resulting in a generous $24,000 towards the flood victims. It is really great when professional sports leagues help out in tragic situations. It not only is positive marketing for the league, but also contributes money to a great cause and those in need.
