"With the Fifth pick of the 2009 NBA the Minnesota Timberwolves select Ricky Rubio".
The Wolves would then take another point guard with the sixth pick overall (Johnny Flynn) and leave the likes of Stephen Curry, Ty Lawson, Jordan Hill, Brandon Jennings, and Darren Collison on the board for other teams to draft. That is where the problem began, its hard to draft in the NBA and every team makes mistakes but the Timberwolves mistake has just been magnified and this article explains why.
Someone close to Ricky Rubio is talking to the media and telling them what fans and the Minnesota organization don't want to hear. Rubio is not interested in joining the Timberwolves anytime soon if at all. To everyone surprise Ricky is only interested in joining good teams, that being the Heat, Knicks or Celtics.
The article also has some interesting information about the play of Rubio as of late and its not good news for any teams in the NBA or his current team. Ricky's shooting percent is declining along with his scoring and his value overall to the Timberwolves.
I am not surprised by this article since it seems like every "star" in the NBA wants to leave his team. I think Rubio was an awful draft pick and has set Minnesota back a few years along with the fact that Johnny Flynn isn't thriving in his 2nd year after coming back from an injury. The Timberwolves have a decent young core but all signs look to more rebuilding after reading this article. They are a shoe in for a high draft pick after this season, lets just hope they draft someone who wants to play in the NBA.
