"Unfazed by having to pick second in the inaugural NHL All-Star fantasy draft, the Detroit Red Wings' defenseman built and went on to lead another winning team -- though this was the first one named after him."
The NHL did a pretty good job of marketing this years All Star game. In an unprecedented fashion this year the NHL decided to have a Fantasy Draft with all of the players that were selected to the AllStar game. I thought that this was a genius idea especially since fantasy Sports has become such a big thing these days among sports fans. Not only did the draft itself do a good job of marketing for the All Star game, but it also gave the fans something to watch as most people were very interested to see who was picked 1st as well as who was the last person picked in the draft. I would like to see other sports like basketball and baseball pick up a similar trend as I thought the test run on the fantasy NHL game was a success.
